Happy late new year links family. I hope you all had a nice break, whether just a few days or a few weeks. I’m coming out of one of the most restful seasons in recent memory. Some time with family, some beautiful times with friends, some very restful time on my own. I got to clean, I got to dine well, I got to be lonely, I bought a puppy that I will pick up in a few short weeks.
I am so grateful that y’all have decided to join me in 2023 with Links. I won’t formally pick back up until next week, but until then, some thoughts and tips about living in the new year:
Take more naps.
You do not have to make difficult goals or work really hard in January, you are allowed to just be a person.
Drink more water.
Open storage is for rich people with pantries and walk-in closets and stuff. hide your stuff in bins and cabinets and you won’t need to organize it.
If you are feeling run down mid day, try changing your socks. I keep a fresh pair in my backpack. I know it sounds stupid. It helps.
Take Vitamin D every day until April.
Plan your next move in December so you can buy a bunch of new stuff for your new apartment/home on Black Friday.
When you order delivery, preheat your over or skillet so that you can refresh your food on arrival. it will always taste at minimum 20% better.
Get a library card.
Go to therapy. If you can’t afford it, look for therapists with sliding scales. It’s worth it.
That sock tip is weird but also very good!
