Societal Collapse Is in the Air, I Fear
It's the inaugural post of Links, and we're investigating Elon Musk's bedside table.
Well well well, if it isn’t the consequences of my own actions. I expected a few of you to join but I did not expect this! I'm honored you’re here, but I think most of you are expecting thought leadership when i’m here to talk about bad television.
Things will shift and improve over the next few months as I get a handle on my style. Consider sticking around a bit longer. I swear if you send me an email about a grammar error on my first post I will personally unsubscribe you.
🔗 El*n Musk’s Four Caffeine-Free Diet Cokes are my new sleep paralysis demons
It may not be the end of Twitter, but things sure are getting weird online. I have been a Twitter user for almost half of my life, but this man might be my final straw. There’s a lot of great reasons to not love Elon Musk: Rian Johnson wrote a whole movie about him. Yet again a man in power is owning up to confusing the first amendment with the free market. But nothing— nothing! has a hold on me his self-posted still life, “My bedside table“:
Yes, there is a handgun and [1] fake pistol complete with print of The Crossing the Delaware, as well as a Tibetan thunderbolt scepter; but nothing on God’s green earth prepared me for the world’s richest man to have [4] Caffeine-Free Diet Cokes at his disposal.
Editors Note: Please be aware that free speech is NOT welcome at Links by Jud ™, this is my personal word toilet and I will use it as I please.
🔗 I am jealous of every cast member on White Lotus
Nothing has me quite in a hold like season two of White Lotus, which in my opinion is better cast this year and has brought Este Haim on as part-time musical consultant, full-time vibe consultant, throwing karaoke parties during off hours— for both cast, crew, and tourists staying at the Four Seasons Taormina (and yes, I checked, it’s roughly $1150 a night for it’s lowest end room— a fair price for men who drink caffeine-free diet coke).
Stay tuned for this weekend for my White Lotus predictions.
🔗 Glass Onion is over (if you want it)
Netflix is not doing so hot these days, but it just can’t help but make bad calls. Though Glass Onion (Elon Musk biopic) netted $15m over the holiday weekend in only 600 movie theaters, it’s last day in theaters is today, unless they reverse course.
Happy to say although Netflix is losing potentially millions in profit, I am at least gaining $45 back from not being able to go rewatch it over and over, as it’s nearly a perfect movie.
is free speech allowed in the comments though?
